The Road Ahead

We at O’Connor Studios hope this message finds you and your loved ones healthy and safe. There is a lot of speculation on how schools will go about reopening in the fall, questions about hybrid systems, remote systems and possibly a full return of students back to the schools. We know you have a lot to think about and we wanted too preemptively reach out to you with our plans, hoping to ease the burden.

Our number one goal in planning for this upcoming season is how to keep everyone involved safe, while providing our service’s such as;

- Student and Staff ID cards

- Admin Image Exports including Nurse, library and lunch programs used in your daily operation

- Yearbook images

We have had countless meetings and drawn out many scenarios all while taken under consideration that everything could change at the last minute.

We are going paperless!

Why

- This will help with concerns of handling flyers between parents, students, school staff and our employees.

Note: We will provide a few extra paper flyers in case there are students who cannot go online

- No barcoded data cards to be passed back and forth between teachers, students and our employees.

How

- When requesting our yearly data, we will ask for First Name, Last Name, Grade, Homeroom/Teacher, Student ID#’s, Parents Email & Addresses.

- As always, we will take the same security protocols with the data, in which only two O’Connor employees have access and it is stored on a local encrypted server. We also never share data with any other organization.

- Emails with date and ordering link will be sent out in the following order, 7 days before picture day, 3 days before picture day and a final email on the day of picture day.

- All package orders will be mailed directly home, eliminating the handling of them throughout the school building.

Photography Location & Setup

- Because of social distancing rules we will be unable to photograph all staff groups, panoramic and classroom groups for this fall season. There is no way to safely group students & staff together. However, we will take those group photos in the spring and have them delivered before the end of the school year.

- Our photography setup includes both indoor and outdoor options depending upon the schools needs. We have changed our setup to ensure proper distancing rules are followed and all students and staff will now stand to have their photo taken, to avoid using posing stools.

- This year our goal is to take our time, ensure safety and provide a great product. With the distancing setup, we realize that our photo sessions will take a bit longer than normal and possibly a whole school day.

- Hybrid school systems. We know each school system will have different scenarios and our scheduling dept is ready to accommodate your needs.

School Portraits

School portraits have been a tradition for 100 years, serving as a pictorial documentation of a student’s academic growth. During this time of Covid-19 we have been contacted by literally 1000s of parents looking for images of their children to complete their albums. Long after cell phone photos are gone, in 99% of the cases, parents will still have their children’s school portraits, to be viewed by their children and their grandchildren.
